Whispers of the Soul 

For nearly twenty years, I have met with God in quiet moments—pen in hand, heart open—writing without knowing what words would emerge. Only recently did I discover there is a name for this practice: psalmography—the art of writing psalms.

What began as simple journaling became something deeper: prayers poured onto the page, reflections of faith, gratitude, struggle, hope, and the hidden cries of the soul. Over time, these writings evolved into songs and, more recently, parables—each one born from a desire to encounter God in a personal and honest way.

Whispers of the Soul is a collection of those sacred conversations. Through poetic reflections, heartfelt lyrics, and thought-provoking stories, this book invites readers into a journey of spiritual discovery, healing, and connection with the One who is always ready to meet with us.

Deeply personal yet universally relatable, these pages offer encouragement to anyone longing for peace, purpose, and a deeper awareness of God’s presence in everyday life.

Domenic Valastro, the son of Sicilian Immigrants, is a husband, a father, a Nonno and until only recently, a creative writer. He has served in various roles as an elder, deacon and Bible Study leader and led Christian, not-for-profit ministries. He holds a Masters Degree in Business and is currently on the Board of Morling Bible College. Whispers of the Soul is Domenic’s first published work.
