Going Deeper With God II is an invitation to deepen your relationship with the Lord—an encouragement to make your walk with Him your highest priority.

After more than 50 years in Christian ministry, I’ve learned that nothing can take the place of a believer’s devotional life. Serving Christ is vital—but never at the expense of personal devotion to Him.

This book is a call to pursue a closer, more intimate connection with God. Like the psalmist who wrote, “As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God” (Psalm 42:1), we are meant to hunger for more of Him.

God desires to reveal Himself to us more deeply—and there is no limit to what we can learn about His character. The more we know Him, the more we stand in awe of His love and mercy. Through thoughtful Bible readings and reflections, Going Deeper With God II is designed to inspire, challenge, and encourage you in your daily walk with Christ.

About the author
Peter C. Horrell was born in England in 1936. He served in the British Army in Kenya in the mid-50s during the Mau Mau conflict. As a traveller and adventurer, he hiked around Europe, immigrated to Australia and later moved to New Zealand in the early 60s. In New Zealand he had what he calls a “Damascus Road” encounter with Christ. He felt a call to foreign missionary service and spent time at the Missionary Training College in Tasmania, where he met his future wife, Caroline. Together they served in South America and Spain.

Upon their return to Australia, Peter completed his theological studies at the Baptist Theological College of Queensland. He has been a Baptist pastor of churches in Australia and New Zealand. He has written several Christian articles, including his soon-to-be-published autobiography. His interests are poetry, archaeology, early European history and succulents. He and his wife Caroline have ‘retired’ and live in Maleny, Queensland, Australia. They have been married over 50 years and have three children.
