Ariana is the perfect Christian girl—serving at church, honouring her parents, and doing everything she can to make Jesus look good.
But when her carefully laid plans for life after high school begin to unravel, so does the identity she’s built around them. Beneath the doing, beneath the perfection… who is she really? And what was she created for?
Dante has done her best to leave the past where it belongs. Jesus saved her—that should be enough. She’s moved on… or at least, that’s what she tells herself.
But when Ariana begins to drift, everything starts to shift.
As the other side of faith quietly calls, Dante is forced to confront what she’s buried, and Ariana must decide just how deep she’s willing to go.
How far is too far?
Can you be too lost to come back? Or is found closer than you think?
About the author
Jess Newman has always loved stories — probably because her Mum read her the Bible every night and her Dad told her a tale about Hitler chasing her grandmother around Europe (at least that’s how she heard it.) However, she’s convinced the Gospel is the best story ever told, with stories of how it changes ordinary lives coming a close second.
For her day job, Jess pastors a church with her husband, Tim and heads up the Bible college for her church movement. She’s also halfway through a Master of Theology and the laundry pile. When she’s not writing, or buried in a Bible commentary, you’ll find her at the beach with a novel, her family and her beagles.
