Daring to be Different in Bolivia

Ana was extremely frustrated by her restricted lifestyle in rural Bolivia. She often resented being a girl because she had to mind the family’s animals, instead of frequently going to school like her brothers. She also hated all the meaningless religious duties she had to fulfill weekly.

When her family moved to the city because of economic pressure, she abruptly discovered that regular school attendance was no picnic. In the face of racial preduidice, hurtful comments and bullying, she realizes she needs the Lord’s help and strength to dare to be different and start a wonderful new life.

Julia Love graduated from Macquarie University in New South Wales, Australia, and started her career as a high school teacher. Her faith in the Lord began after she was miraculously healed of a debilitating muscle disease in 1977. At the Lord’s calling to missions, she uprooted herself from her job, family, friends and began the life of a missionary. Over a span of more than thirty years, she lived and served in Bolivia, Mozambique, and the Ukraine, and eventually other fascinating nations like Burkina Faso, Madagascar, Spain and the Philippines.
