By Cheryl Christopher
Her Christian husband was meant to be her lover and protector, but she ended up seeking protection from him. Marrying the future pastor had thrown her into ten secretly anguishing years of abuse, deception and almost into insanity.
Only she knew of his affairs, his addiction to pornography and love of money, but even the mention of spousal abuse and infidelity was taboo and she was silenced to submit to her husband-whatever the circumstance.
For her, home became a battlefield and her mind became a monster.
Her will to live began to hang by a thread, and as a Christian woman she had to choose- her marriage or her life.
She was left battered, and she wasn’t sure if the Bible was her only way out.

Cheryl Christopher lives in New Zealand with her 2 young children. Her education includes a Master’s degree in Literature, Psychology and along with pursuing a PhD in Theology. She runs a local charity BaG (Bring and Give) to support her community and victims of abuse.
She was married for almost 10 years to what the world believed was the perfect man, but behind closed doors she battled alone with abuse and she was finally left battered and crumbling with depression and thoughts of suicide. When all coping mechanisms failed, she finally turned her eyes to the Bible and discovered un-preached sermons about God’s battle strategy that every wounded Christian needed to know about the Christian battleground.
