Tanya Whittaker grew up in a small country town in South Australia, enjoying many aspects of horse riding, including pony club, show riding, dressage, hunting, stock work and polocrosse. These adventures filled Tanya’s childhood and later years. Her knowledge of horses, farm life, and love of animals have enabled her to write this authentic children’s story.
Adding to Tanya’s love of horse riding has been her experience of finding faith in Jesus. Her first publication, Just a Reminder Each Day, a book of daily devotions for adults, has encouraged her to publish her children’s books, starting with The Storm. Tanya writes with a desire to give her young readers a positive, fun experience, while not avoiding the risks and adventure that can be a part of children’s lives. Set in the 1950s, The Storm will take parents and grandparents on a journey into the past as they share valuable time with their young readers.
