Born and raised in New Zealand, Elsie Violet carries the scars of a trauma-filled childhood that shaped her resilience and faith. In 2006, she moved to Australia with her four-year-old son, one suitcase, and only $5,000 to her name – fleeing domestic violence in pursuit of safety and a new beginning. That leap of faith transformed her life forever. Nearly two decades later, she now calls the Gold Coast home, alongside her two children, while walking out her new life in Christ – one step at a time and one day at a time. Anchored and uplifted by God, Elsie continues to learn, grow, and move in line with His calling upon her life. Elsie’s first book Suspicious Eyes Taints the Heart is a collection of poems that takes readers on a journey from her dark beginning into God’s light, and her second book, Heart on Fire Heals the Soul, continues this poetic journey – this time fully in God’s light, showing how trouble may still come, but the approach and responses are transformed when God is leading the way. Though the world has placed many labels on Elsie’s life, she considers herself first and foremost a Child of God. From that identity flows everything else – being a mother, a business owner, a lover of life and a giver of love through Christ’s grace, strength and unfailing love.
