Our review policy

Ark House receives hundreds of manuscripts, of which we publish about 2%.
At this time Ark House receives unsolicited manuscript submissions, thus you do not need a literary agent to submit your work.

Ark House will not provide feedback on your manuscript should we decide not to publish it.
Please allow Ark House 3-6 months to provide you with an answer on your submission.

To submit your manuscript, please ensure you follow the procedures below:

Submitting manuscripts:

Prior to submitting your manuscript to Ark House, please first complete the Manuscript Submission Form (above) and mail to:

Please do not mail your completed manuscript.

If we believe there is a market for your manuscript, we will advise you by mail or email and will then require the details below:

• Making your manuscript presentable

To make the review process quicker, Ark House prefers that the hard copy be presented in the following way.

- text size: 12pt
- font: Times New Roman
- spacing: 1 ½ to double line spacing
- justified: fully justified

• How to submit your manuscript

Ark House requires:

1. A hard copy of the manuscript
2. A CD Rom of the manuscript
3. A hard copy of the completed submission form

Waiting time:
Please allow between 3-6 months for communication from us. Our main form of communication will be via email or snail mail.

Success Rate:
Due to the high volume of manuscripts we receive, generally only 2% of manuscripts will be selected for publishing. Please note that if your manuscript is selected for publishing we will contact you via phone or email. If not selected, we do not return CD Roms or hard copies. Accordingly please make sure you retain a copy of your own.

If your manuscript is not going to be published, please note that we do not provide feedback as to why a decision was made not to proceed. This is simply due to the volume of manuscripts we receive.
