Drought. The word conjures up images of parched landscapes, dying livestock and withered crops. For those whose livelihood is dependent on the produce of the land, drought brings financial burdens and troubled souls. For Mikaela and Thomas McDowell, the drought means a necessary shift from their beloved country homestead to the big smoke of Melbourne. Thomas has to find a job that will provide for them financially before their baby arrives.
